derstands what you are going through AND knows how to get you through it in Christ. “
Healing is inseparable from the Gospel as Jesus told the disciples to “heal the
sick and bind up the brokenhearted”. People were healed in the disciples shadows
as they administered Christ's healing, as they “abided” in Him. You are called
to do the same...and greater.
Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do
also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father.
(John
14:12)
Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and tell them, even
to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed
themselves! Shouldn't the shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, and you clothe
you with the wool, you kill the fatlings; but you don't feed the sheep. You haven't
strengthened the diseased, neither have you healed that which was sick, neither have
you bound up that which was broken, neither have you brought back that which was
driven away, neither have you sought that which was lost; but with force and with
rigor have you ruled over them. (Ezekiel 34:2-
As you go, preach, saying, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!' Heal the sick, cleanse
the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give. (Matthew 10:7-
He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave
them authority over the unclean spirits. (Mark 6:7)
They went out and preached that people should repent. They cast out many demons,
and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them. (Mark 6:12-
Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table, and
he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn't believe
those who had seen him after he had risen. He said to them, "Go into all the world,
and preach the Good News to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will
be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned. These signs will accompany those
who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages;
they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way
hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." (Mark 16:14-
It happened on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees
and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee,
Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them. (Luke 5:17)
He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons,
and to cure diseases. He sent them forth to preach the Kingdom of God, and to heal
the sick. (Luke 9:1-
They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing
everywhere. (Luke 9:6)
Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two
by two ahead of him into every city and place, where he was about to come. Then he
said to them, "The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore
to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest. Go your
ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
Into whatever city you enter,
and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you. Heal the sick who are
therein, and tell them, 'The Kingdom of God has come near to you.
(Luke 10:1-
Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
A certain man who was lame from his mother's womb was being carried, whom they laid
daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask gifts for the needy
of those who entered into the temple.
Seeing Peter and John about to go into the
temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy. Peter, fastening his eyes on him,
with John, said, "Look at us." He listened to them, expecting to receive something
from them.
But Peter said, "Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that I
give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!" He took him
by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received
strength. Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk.
He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising God. All the
people saw him walking and praising God. They recognized him, that it was he who
used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Beautiful Gate of the temple.
They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. (Acts 3:1-
By the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people.
They were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. None of the rest dared to join
them, however the people honored them. More believers were added to the Lord, multitudes
of both men and women. They even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid
them on cots and mattresses, so that as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might
overshadow some of them. Multitudes also came together from the cities around Jerusalem,
bringing sick people, and those who were tormented by unclean spirits: and they were
all healed. (Acts 5:12-
Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ. The multitudes
listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard
and saw the signs which he did. For unclean spirits came out of many of those who
had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and
lame were healed. There was great joy in that city. (Acts 8:5-
It happened, as Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the
saints who lived at Lydda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been
bedridden for eight years, because he was paralyzed. Peter said to him, "Aeneas,
Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!" Immediately he arose. (Acts
9:32-
At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother's womb,
who never had walked. He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him,
and seeing that he had faith to be made whole, said with a loud voice, "Stand upright
on your feet!" He leaped up and walked. (Acts 14:8-
God worked special miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons
were carried away from his body to the sick, and the evil spirits went out. (Acts
19:11-
It happened that the father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery. Paul entered
in to him, prayed, and laying his hands on him, healed him. Then when this was done,
the rest also who had diseases in the island came, and were cured. (Acts 28:8-
(Is there any wonder why we have sickness and disease in today's society?)
But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to the voice of Yahweh your God,
to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day,
that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you. (Deuteronomy 28:15)
Yahweh will strike you with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and
with fiery heat, and with the sword, and with blight, and with mildew; and they shall
pursue you until you perish. (Deuteronomy 28:22)
Yahweh will strike you with the boil of Egypt, and with the tumors, and with the
scurvy, and with the itch, of which you can not be healed. Yahweh will strike you
with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart; (Deuteronomy 28:27-
Yahweh will strike you in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore boil, of which
you can not be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head. (Deuteronomy
28:35)
If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this
book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, YAHWEH YOUR GOD; then Yahweh
will make your plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, even great plagues,
and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. He will bring
on you again all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they shall
cling to you. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the
book of this law, Yahweh will bring them on you, until you are destroyed.
(Deuteronomy
28:58-
